Holy bejebus I hope everyone out there was able to see some of the meteors last night. It wasnt even worht going out unless you went out between 4 and 5, trust me on this. But damn, me and some friends went down to Wimberley and just laid back and enjoyed the show. It wasnt a matter of IF we saw any, it was HOW MANY we saw per minute. Absolutely phenomenal. One of the best ones Ive seen. There were times when so many would happen in succession that it would create the image of a bike wheel and spokes, with Jupiter as the hub.
I also got the double benefit of getting a little more acquainted with the new Sigur Ros album. See, it's not as good as their first one, they are really just kind of playing off the hype that everyone expected them to get. The album itself sounds like a crisper, less raw, and therefore more formulaic version of the previous record. Still a wonderful piece of work, just not half as good as Aegtis Byrnum (sp?). HOWEVER, for early morning stargazing out in the texas hill country, this album proves to be an excellent choice. Cheers to the guys who picked that to crank while we all stared into the abyss that is our home.
